Legacy

I think quite a bit about what I may end up being remembered for one day. I remember early on when I had first become an atheist, I had decided that since there was no afterlife waiting for me on the other side of it all that what was most important in my life was securing my place in the history books. If I wanted to live on after I died than I was going to have to do it through the pages of history. I decided then and there that I had to secure a good "memory" of myself after I died. I don't feel exactly the same anymore though. I care less about being remembered than I did in the beginning. What matters to me now is that I spend my life continuously evolving. I believe that there is always a next level, to anything, and that there are no finite endings besides the ones we assign ourselves. There is unending depth and complexity in the composition of nature and I'll spend my entire life figuring it out. I don't know what I want to be remembered for at this point besides that I didn't care to be remembered at all.

Last CD

I normally don't buy my music. I just don't see much of a point in a world where I can have anything I want at my fingertips at absolutely no cost to me. Every once in a while though I hear an album that is complete enough that the artist deserves to have my money for the work that went into creating it. This happened very recently when I bought the Dirty Projector's new album "Bitte Orca". The album was named #2 album of the year by Pitchfork and after I heard it I was astonished. It was one of the most original and entertaining albums I had heard since Pink Floyd was at it's peak. I ending up buying "Bite Orca" which is the first album I had bought since Freshmen year. As of late I have been finding more and more new music that tickles my fancy. This is leading to harder and harder decisions on whether or not to buy an album because although I want to support the artist, I also want to support my wallet.

Spring break

My spring break started off as eventfull as normal by which I mean for the first half of it I did absolutely nothing at all. Ya see I ususually hate spring break because all I ever end up doing is be bored out of my mind while all of my friends are off in Florida or Columbia or whatever paradise they happen to prey on that particular year. Towards the end though, my sister called to remind me that over the weekend I would be going up to UK to spend the weekend with her so we could see my favorite comedian: Zack Galafianakis. Not only that but we were going to a new sushi restaurant. NOT ONLY THAT BUT I GOT TO STAY IN A GIRLS DORM FOR THE NIGHT! I felt like I was in heaven and that my sister had single handedly saved spring break but it somehow found a way to get better. I found out by word of mouth that Sparky happned to be in Lexington at the same time that I was. We met up for breakfast the next morning, painted up in ridiculous flourescent neon paint, and sped 100 mph back to Owensboro. It was the perfect culmination to a perfect spring break.
