Those around us

I don't believe we live our lives for those who came before us so much as for those that come after us. We take direction from the ones that preceded us and in a way I assume that's a way of living through them. I think it should be the goal of everyone who is blessed enough to live without struggling for basic needs to give those pleasantries to others. It is in human nature to crave intimacy and and a great source of intimacy is to be found in bettering another persons life. Anything else is selfish. When thinking about the future it is almost impossible to fathom without putting it in the context of the people who influence your life now. It seems weird to me though because it's not fair to assume that these people wont change or if they will even still be here. But then again when thinking about the future nothing is certain save the fact that it will be magnificent.
